Sample Itinerary

Our Golfo Dulce Adventure begins with an early morning drive or puddle jumper to the town of Puerto Jimenez in Peninsula de Osa. We will spend the afternoon exploring Puerto Jimenez, enjoying a short hike or simply relaxing in the hotel. The next day, we rise early to shuttle to our put in. Our panguero will meet us on the water and follow us in his boat each day as we leisurely kayak the coastline. We will stop for picnic lunches, relaxing swims, and snorkel some of the unique reefs in the area each day. We will also explore the dense tropical mangroves that skim the emerald green waters of the Esquinas River. Accommodations for the evenings can be in either private campsites with all the amenities we need for a “glamping” experience, rustic “tico” style lodges, or exclusive boutique hotels. Our last day on the water will include an early morning paddle across the Gulf with the rising sun and generally perfect conditions. On our way we will keep our eyes peeled for schools of dolphins swimming and playing in the sea, and depending on the season, it could be whales too! Back in Puerto Jimenez, we will enjoy our last beer and a final seafood feast at a beachfront restaurant before returning to San José. An extended stay in the area to explore more of the Peninsula de Osa can be arranged.

The average distances covered per day are 10-14 km. Our key to a successful and fun adventure is good food, good company, a positive attitude and plenty of beer and wine! Come and share the fun with us!
