A TROPICAL EXPEDITION
A perfect trip for a biology class or the outdoor club. Journey deep into the jungles of Costa Rica’s wildest National Park with a naturalist guide full of information about the wonders and biodiversity of the area. Camp at the the Park Ranger station for two nights and take day hikes to search for tapir, pumas or maybe even a jaguar! Finish off with a coastal trek of magical panoramas before heading back to civilization.

DAY ONE
Arrival in San Jose.
Sleep hotel in San Jose.

DAY TWO
Transfer to the Caribbean coast. jungle hike, intro to sustainability, permaculture, and farm tour. Sleep in Southern Caribbean lodge.
02
DAY THREE
Garden project, beach time, and organic chocolate making. Sleep in Southern Caribbean lodge.
03
DAY FOUR
Jungle hike and afternoon surf lessons. Sleep hotel in Puerto Viejo.
04
DAY FIVE
Full day rafting the Pacuare River (Class III-IV)* and transfer to San Jose. Sleep hotel in San Jose.

DAY SIX
Fly home.

Our itineraries are evaluated based on six criteria: Accommodations, Locations, Comfort zone levels, Trip Tasks, Adventure and Service. The six criteria are rated on three different levels as per the following chart.
Please note that there are short itineraries 5–6 days and long itineraries 8–10 days, all which can be shortened or lengthened to meet your educational and financial needs.
