AN OCEANIC EXPEDITION
Take advantage of this outdoor journey to indoctrinate students about the tropical ocean and marine environments. Begin with a rafting trip on the Savegre River. Follow with surf lessons in the Marino Ballena National Park. Finish with a four day sensational sea kayaking journey in the Golfo Dulce to remote beaches, coves and mangroves. Comfort zones will be pushed and a lot of magical transformations will happen in these breathtaking settings.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
DAY ONE
Arrival in San Jose. Sleep hotel in San Jose.

DAY TWO
Transfer to the Central Southern Pacific coast with a rafting trip on Class III rapids along the way. Surf lessons in the afternoon. Sleep hotel in Uvita.

DAY THREE
Surf lessons in the morning and jungle hike to a tropical waterfall in the afternoon. Sleep hotel in Uvita.

DAY FOUR
Transfer to Rincon in the Golfo Dulce. Afternoon sea kayaking intro (5km). Sleep lodge in Rincon.

DAY FIVE
Half day of sea kayaking (10km) and afternoon easy hike in private reserve. Sleep lodge in Rincon.

DAY SIX
Kayak the coast, islands, reefs, and mangroves to the region of Esquinas (16km). Private camping in Esquinas.
06
DAY seven
Snorkel around unique reefs and explore the Esquinas River mangroves by sea kayak (5km). Private camping in Esquinas.
07
DAY eight
Kayak across the Golfo Dulce to Puerto Jimenez (16km). Transfer to San Jose. Sleep hotel in San Jose.

DAY Nine
Fly home.

trip criteria
Our itineraries are evaluated based on six criteria: Accommodations, Locations, Comfort zone levels, Trip Tasks, Adventure and Service. The six criteria are rated on three different levels as per the following chart.
Please note that there are short itineraries 5–6 days and long itineraries 8–10 days, all which can be shortened or lengthened to meet your educational and financial needs.
