Costa Rica’s Corcovado National Park should be on everyone’s bucket list of things to do. The sheer remoteness and pristine state of this park make it a wonderland for nature enthusiasts. It’s vastness, the thick jungle, the heavy ocean, and the rugged streams and rivers can overpower you and stimulate an incredible sense of humility and respect. The challenging 16 km hike in and out of Sirena, provide a singular opportunity to witness the incredible scenery and amazing wildlife such as tapirs, monkeys, sloths, wild peccary, coatis, a vast array of tropical birds, snakes and other impressive reptiles, amazing camouflaged insects and if you are lucky, maybe even a large cat like a jaguar or puma. A glimpse of any of these will make it worth every step of the way.
One or two layover days are spent at the ranger’s station in Sirena exploring local trails, spotting more wildlife, cooling off in nearby streams, chatting with the rangers, and relaxing on the ranger station porch while watching the nature world spin around us. Clients who do not want to hike out can request a boat out option.
This 5 day trip with the travel day to the region and travel day from the region included, is perfect for fit and experienced families with teenagers, couples, groups of friends and small corporate teams all.
