The Golfo de Nicoya has been one of our favorite places
to sea kayak since Adventures Under the Sun was founded
over 20 years ago. It is easily accessible, has infinite
islands and beaches to explore, serene, calm waters for
paddling, beautiful bays for exploring and provides some
of the most scenic areas to visit of our country. Our Golfo
de Nicoya sea kayaking adventure explores the western
shores between Playa Naranjo, Paquera and Curu, as well
as the islands of Tortuga, Negritos, Jesusita, Cedros, Aves,
Gitana and the historical penitentiary on San Lucas Island.

Our standard 4 night / 5 day trip stays at two excellent
lodges – one a pacific paddler’s paradise and the other
a boutique glamping island experience to be had. We
spend our days paddling various distances (average 7 km
per day) with a support boat alongside, enjoying gourmet
picnics in calm bays, viewing plenty marine life below,
and marveling at the unique bioluminescent activity on a
surreal night paddle.

The itinerary will vary according to the tides on the
established dates and can be adjusted to fewer days and
shorter paddling distances. This trip is perfect for families
with kids, couples, groups of friends, and small corporate
